Chief Development Officer

About the Role

The Chief Development Officer will play a critical role in driving fundraising efforts to support the mission of Oliver Scholars. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, this key member of the leadership team will work closely with donors, program teams, and development teams to develop and implement a strategic fundraising plan that increases revenue and moves the organization closer to its $4M annual goal within five years.

Key Responsibilities

* Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy that leverages existing relationships and identifies new opportunities
* Collaborate with the CEO and senior leadership team to integrate fundraising efforts into all aspects of the organization's programs and operations
* Build and maintain strong relationships with donors, alumni, and community members to cultivate support for the organization's mission
* Develop and implement stewardship and donor recognition programs to ensure timely and accurate reporting to donors
* Work with the finance department to manage gift processing and reconciliation protocols and procedures

Requirements

* 15+ years of successful fundraising experience, with at least 5 years as a fundraising manager/director
* Broad-based knowledge of various development campaign activities and tools, including the internet, direct mail, proposal and grant development, annual fund and planned giving, event planning and management, direct solicitations, leveraging fundraising databases and support systems for donor segmentation, and research and volunteer management
* Exceptional written and verbal communications skills
* Demonstrated experience motivating, coordinating and supporting the fundraising activities of others
* A master's degree in fundraising, public administration, business or a related field is preferred, CFRE candidates will receive priority
