Position Overview:

Senior Associate, Private Equity Fund Accounting

Location: Hybrid

Team Insights:

As a Senior Associate in Private Markets, you will be responsible for preparing and processing transactions and financial reports, applying sound judgment in the interpretation of accounting principles across various complex transactions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Produce accurate and timely deliverables within established timelines.
  • Compile work paper files ensuring accuracy and completeness, including capital activities, income and expense accruals, and investment transactions.
  • Update distribution waterfall (carried interest) models as necessary.
  • Calculate management fees and prepare supporting documentation.
  • Review transaction documentation and supporting materials, gaining a comprehensive understanding of investment transactions and accruals.
  • Conduct bank reconciliations and process journal entries effectively.
  • Assist in the year-end audit process in collaboration with team members, clients, and auditors.
  • Engage with clients and counterparties, including legal counsel, auditors, and tax advisors, to meet critical deadlines.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related discipline; CPA and/or MBA preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience, particularly in alternative investment funds, with a focus on Private Equity/Real Assets.
  • Solid understanding of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and comprehensive accounting concepts; familiarity with investment partnerships is advantageous.
  • Experience in preparing and reviewing general ledgers, work papers, and financial statements.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to meet deadlines and complete tasks independently.
  • Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, capable of interacting with all organizational levels.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced skills in Excel required.
