Position Overview:

Senior Associate, Private Equity Fund Accounting

Location: Hybrid

Team Insights:

As a Senior Associate in Private Markets, you will be responsible for preparing and processing transactions and financial reports, applying sound judgment regarding accounting principles to various intricate transactions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the delivery of precise and timely work products within specified timelines.
  • Compile work paper files for accuracy and completeness, encompassing capital activities, income and expense accruals, and investment activities.
  • Update distribution waterfall (carried interest) models.
  • Calculate management fees and prepare supporting schedules.
  • Review all transaction documentation and supporting files, comprehending the features of investment transactions, accruals, etc.
  • Conduct bank reconciliations and process journal entries.
  • Assist in the year-end audit process, collaborating with the team, clients, and auditors.
  • Engage actively with clients and counterparties, including legal counsel, auditors, and tax advisors, to meet critical deadlines.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field; CPA and/or MBA preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in Accounting, with a focus on alternative investment funds; experience in Private Equity/Real Assets is essential.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and other accounting concepts; familiarity with investment partnerships is advantageous.
  • Experience in preparing and reviewing general ledgers, work papers, and financial statements.
  • Strong attention to detail and deadline-oriented, with the ability to independently complete assigned tasks.
  • Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of interacting with all organizational levels.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced skills in Excel required.
