Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Regional Immunization Consultant to join our team at the State of North Carolina. As a key member of our Immunization Branch, you will play a critical role in promoting public health by reducing or eliminating vaccine-preventable diseases.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide regional consultative work in immunization assessment and outreach, and consultation with the North Carolina Immunization Registry (NCIR).
  • Conduct assessments at private and public physician offices, public facilities, and Local Health Departments statewide, following the Immunization Quality Improvement for Providers (IQIP) protocol established by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
  • Extract immunization information using the NCIR, provide thorough documentation of IQIP visits and provider contact summaries, and analyze qualitative and quantitative data to provide feedback and recommendations to providers.
  • Lead discussion of results with clinic staff, monitor progress towards annual program goals, and bring continuous quality improvement to the North Carolina IQIP program.
  • Serve as liaison between counties and state for immunization information, conduct annual Local Health Department Immunization Assessments, and assist new providers in enrolling in various federal vaccine programs.
Requirements
  • Advanced knowledge of Public Health, immunizations, and the organization unit.
  • Experience with mentoring new staff, leading teams, delegation, and making assignments.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and efficiently manage tasks and deliverables.
  • Experience with providing feedback and advising state and local agencies and other medical bodies on vaccine requirements.
  • Valid unrestricted North Carolina Driver's License required.
Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree from an appropriately accredited institution and three (3) years of experience in the program related to the area of assignment, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
