Role Summary:
The Senior Application Consultant is a seasoned technical expert responsible for providing support to IFF Pharma Solutions products and applications across North America. This role involves managing the technical relationship with designated pharmaceutical and dietary supplement clients to foster business growth and cultivate a strong pipeline of opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

Technical Proficiency on Established Products and Applications:
- Lead innovative application strategies utilizing IFF's excipients by generating ideas and concepts that address current and future customer needs, offering robust alternatives to competing products.
- Serve as the technical authority on IFF's Pharmaceutical and Dietary Supplement excipient product portfolio and its applications, delivering hands-on and classroom training to customers, sales teams, marketing, and distributors as needed.
- Contribute to the publication of conference posters, papers, and articles.
- Support the commercialization of new technologies and products through customer feedback and application trials.
- Develop product data, application insights, value-in-use information, product literature, and sales presentations.
- Conduct failure analysis to identify root causes and corrective actions.

Strategic Market Engagement:
- Collaborate with Strategic and Field Marketing to identify global trends that may present new opportunities or risks for IFF Pharma Solutions, translating these insights into relevant application or product concepts.
- Recognize unmet customer and industry needs to accelerate growth, focusing on specific technical support and services.
- Share insights gained with other application, regional, and global teams.

Leadership:
- Work closely with Marketing, Sales, and Distributors to ensure comprehensive knowledge of our products and applications is communicated through training and demonstrations.
- Participate as a member of the global IFF Applications team, regularly sharing successful application projects and leveraging insights from other regions.

Project Management:
- Develop and oversee self-initiated or assigned Application/R&D projects and Customer Technical Service Requests (TSRs), coordinating with other Regional Labs to ensure timely completion and appropriate prioritization aligned with business needs.
- Design experiments and testing protocols, collaborating with regional labs to coordinate bench work supporting project objectives.
- Prepare Technical Reports while safeguarding confidential information throughout project work.
- Contribute to the enhancement of technical capabilities in line with current and future business developments.

Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or Life Sciences is required.
- 7-10 years of experience in pharmaceutical formulation, technical service, or product development, including hands-on experience with tablet, capsule, and/or gummy formulation, as well as familiarity with lab to pilot-scale processes.
- Demonstrated practical knowledge of relevant equipment, including rotary tablet machines, fluid-bed granulators/coaters, encapsulation machines, gummy depositing equipment, and film coating machinery.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills.
- Ability to build relationships and tailor messages for diverse audiences.
- Commitment to addressing customer needs and delivering solutions that meet expectations while managing complexity.
- Advanced skills in science-based innovation.
- Capacity to integrate technical expertise with commercial aspects of the business.
- Ability to balance the interests of multiple internal and external stakeholders.
- Willingness to travel is essential.

Preferred Experience:
- Proven ability to lead/manage a product from R&D to manufacturing.
- Broad understanding of technical and regulatory requirements and trends within the pharmaceutical industry.
- Familiarity with the Dietary Supplement industry is advantageous.

Preferred Education:
- An MBA or MS/PhD in a relevant discipline such as Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or Life Sciences is strongly preferred.
