Position Overview:

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is seeking an Electronics Engineering Manager 2 - Avionics Section Manager to oversee our Avionics Integration Organization. This role entails a balance of 80% program responsibilities and 20% functional duties.

Program Responsibilities:

  • Direct product development initiatives.
  • Motivate teams to reach objectives.
  • Deliver presentations to technical leadership.
  • Provide technical guidance to stakeholders.
  • Contribute to proposal development.
  • Mentor and disseminate knowledge among team members.

Functional Responsibilities:

  • Supervise a team of electronics, electrical, and mechanical engineers.
  • Collaborate with technical and functional management to address staffing requirements across programs.
  • Oversee timecard approvals, performance evaluations, and employee development.
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols and policies, including security and training.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline with 9 years of relevant experience; or a Master's degree in a STEM discipline with 7 years of relevant experience.
  • Active DoD Secret clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret clearance.
  • Experience leading engineering teams or projects.
  • Familiarity with avionics systems engineering and integration.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree.
  • Experience in supplier management.
  • Cost Account Management experience.
  • Risk and issue management related to complex hardware and software systems.
  • Proven success in leading technical teams and resolving complex issues.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Experience with the engineering project life cycle.
  • Prior functional management experience.
  • Desire to provide ongoing coaching and feedback to team members.
  • Active DoD Top Secret clearance.

Salary Range: $151,900 - $227,900

This salary range serves as a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers various factors when determining base salary offers, including the scope and responsibilities of the position, as well as the candidate's experience and education.
