Position Overview:

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is seeking an Electronics Engineering Manager 2 - Avionics Section Manager to oversee our Avionics Integration Organization. This role encompasses 80% program responsibilities and 20% functional duties.

Program Responsibilities:

  • Direct product development initiatives.
  • Motivate teams to meet objectives.
  • Present technical information to leadership.
  • Advise stakeholders on engineering topics.
  • Contribute to proposal development.
  • Mentor team members and share expertise.

Functional Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of electronics, electrical, and mechanical engineers.
  • Collaborate with management to address staffing requirements across programs.
  • Oversee timecard approvals, performance evaluations, and employee development.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and operational policies.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline with 9 years of relevant experience; or a Master's degree in a STEM discipline with 7 years of relevant experience.
  • Active DoD Secret clearance with the capability to obtain a DoD Top Secret clearance.
  • Experience leading engineering teams or projects.
  • Familiarity with avionics systems engineering and integration.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree.
  • Experience in supplier management.
  • Cost Account Management experience.
  • Risk management experience related to complex hardware and software systems.
  • Proven track record as a technical team lead.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Experience with the engineering project life cycle.
  • Success in leading and developing cross-functional teams.
  • Prior functional management experience.
  • Desire to provide ongoing coaching and feedback to team members.
  • Active DoD Top Secret clearance.
  • Current SAP/Program Access.

Salary Range: $151,900 - $227,900
