Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is seeking a Principal Electronics Engineer (Communications) to contribute to our Avionics Integration Organization, specifically supporting the Communication and Payloads Technical Team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Overseeing and prioritizing tasks related to the maintenance of operational capabilities.
  • Delivering direct user support, engineering expertise, and troubleshooting during testing phases.
  • Addressing and rectifying performance issues of deliverable subsystems using program-identified tools/systems on behalf of the Communications technical team.
  • Identifying enhancement opportunities for deliverable systems and collaborating with engineering teams for implementation in line with approved program processes.
  • Reporting on communications subsystem status to program and IPT leadership while identifying risks, issues, and concerns to avert increased costs or schedule delays.
  • Conducting field maintenance of communications hardware. This statement of work is on a classified program and does not support telework. Occasional travel requirements of up to 25% may be necessary.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics) discipline with 5 years of relevant engineering experience; OR a Master's degree in a STEM discipline with 3 years of relevant engineering experience; OR a PhD in a STEM discipline with no related engineering experience.
  • Experience in Communications and Network system integration.
  • Proficiency with RF and Network-based testing equipment, including oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, and power meters.
  • Active in-scope DoD Top Secret clearance.
  • Capability to obtain and maintain initial Special Program Access (SAP/PAR) prior to the start of employment, within a reasonable timeframe as determined by the company to meet its business needs.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Current applicable SAP access.
  • Network training/certifications (Network+, Security+, CCNA, etc.).
  • Experience with Network Encryption Devices (INE, HAIPE, etc.).
  • Familiarity with common industry standards related to communications and network-based systems, such as MIL-STD-1553, RS-232/422, Ethernet (IPv4/IPv6).

Salary Range:
$107,300 - $160,900. The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers various factors when determining base salary offers, including the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills, and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
