Role Overview:
Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is in search of an Electronics Engineering Manager 2 - Avionics Section Manager to oversee our Avionics Integration Organization. This role encompasses 80% program responsibilities and 20% functional management duties.
Program Responsibilities:
- Direct product development initiatives.
- Motivate teams to meet objectives.
- Present technical insights to leadership, including chief engineers and project leads.
- Advise stakeholders on relevant technical matters.
- Contribute to proposal development regularly.
- Mentor and disseminate knowledge among team members.
Functional Management Responsibilities:
- Supervise a team of electronics, electrical, and mechanical engineers.
- Collaborate with technical and functional management to address staffing requirements across programs.
- Oversee timecard approvals, employee evaluations, and facilitate professional development.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and company policies, including security and training.

Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science (BS) in a STEM discipline with 9 years of relevant experience; or a Master of Science (MS) in a STEM discipline with 7 years of relevant experience.
- Active in-scope DoD Secret clearance with the capability to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret clearance.
- Ability to secure initial Special Program Access (SAP/PAR) prior to employment commencement.
- Experience in leading engineering teams or projects.
- Familiarity with avionics systems engineering and integration.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree.
- Experience in supplier management.
- Cost Account Management experience.
- Risk/Opportunity/Issue management experience related to complex hardware and software subsystems.
- Proven success as a technical team lead in resolving complex technical challenges.
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, including written and verbal communication.
- Experience with the engineering project life cycle, including requirements analysis, design, development, integration, validation, verification, and sustainment.
- Demonstrated success in leading and developing cross-functional teams on complex technical projects.
- Prior functional management experience.
- Willingness to provide ongoing coaching and performance feedback to direct reports.
- Active in-scope DoD Top Secret clearance.
- Current SAP/Program Access.
Salary Range: $151,900 - $227,900
The salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers various factors when determining base salary offers, including the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills, and current market conditions. Employees may be eligible for discretionary bonuses in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses reward individual contributions and allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may qualify for Long Term Incentives. Northrop Grumman offers a range of benefits, including health insurance, life and disability insurance, savings plans, company-paid holidays, and paid time off for vacation and personal business.
