Job Overview

As a Facilities Maintenance Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that the physical aspects of our community adhere to established standards and comply with relevant regulations. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Performing Repairs: Troubleshoot, repair, and/or replace heating and A/C units, water heaters, appliances, plumbing, and electrical systems.
  • Maintaining Infrastructure: Address issues related to asphalt, building interiors and exteriors, drainage systems, and perform remodeling carpentry as needed.
  • Responding to Service Requests: Timely completion of service requests and effective communication with management regarding any requests that cannot be fulfilled within 24 hours.

Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols by utilizing power equipment and tools appropriately, while wearing protective gear when necessary.

Community Upkeep: Assist in maintaining the aesthetic appeal of the community through grounds maintenance, housekeeping, trash removal, painting, and exterior repairs. This includes replacing light bulbs and conducting apartment inspections.

Support to Maintenance Supervisor: Aid in preparing vacant apartments for new residents, conduct preventative maintenance to ensure optimal operation of building systems, and manage the inventory of supplies, tools, and equipment.

Collaboration with Office Staff: Distribute notices and engage with residents, prospective residents, and vendors in a professional and respectful manner.

Qualifications:

  • 1 to 3 years of experience in apartment maintenance.
  • Preferred: Valid CFC certification with Type I and II or Universal certification.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license and reliable transportation for on-call emergencies.
  • Ability to provide personal basic tools.
  • Computer literacy is essential.
