Position Overview:

The Stroke Nurse Practitioner plays a crucial role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based healthcare, while enhancing patient outcomes and operational efficiency. This role is pivotal in shaping clinical practices as a recognized authority within the Stroke Service Line. The practitioner will act as a mentor to both clinical and medical personnel, collaborating closely with physicians to deliver effective and economical patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive neurological evaluations and manage patient care.
  • Facilitate communication among the Stroke Team and other healthcare professionals to execute the patient care plan.
  • Analyze diagnostic results and make informed decisions regarding patient treatment.
  • Prescribe medications and interventions within the established scope of practice.
  • Monitor patient reactions to treatments and modify care plans as necessary.
  • Encourage and participate in research initiatives and educational opportunities.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Nursing from an accredited institution.
  • At least one (1) year of experience as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN).
  • Active APRN licensure in the state of Kentucky.
  • National certification as an Adult Nurse Practitioner, Emergency Nurse Practitioner, Family Nurse Practitioner, or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner.
  • Current DEA certification without any restrictions.
