Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is in search of a Principal or Senior Principal Systems Architect to become a vital member of our Systems Engineering and Integration Team.

This role will be situated in Beale AFB, Yuba County, California.


In this capacity, you will oversee and ensure the seamless operation of training systems within a development laboratory.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and articulate system architecture for new or existing intricate computer systems and their supporting laboratory infrastructure.
  • Establish systems specifications, input/output processes, and operational parameters for hardware/software compatibility and system security maintenance.
  • Facilitate architecture and design of subsystems and their integration into a comprehensive system architecture.
  • Identify, analyze, and address program support deficiencies.
  • Formulate and propose corrective measures, collaborating with software baseline engineers to ensure successful overall system design.
  • Plan, assess, and coordinate the installation and/or reconfiguration of Commercial off the Shelf (COTS) hardware and proprietary software builds, ensuring their functionality and integration within the entire system.
  • Maintain technical proficiency in all aspects of networks and computer hardware/software interconnections, including routers, multiplexers, firewalls, hubs, bridges, gateways, etc.
  • Ensure that proper network documentation exists, including operational instructions.
  • Conduct regular monitoring and network analysis for both short- and long-term planning of in-house systems.
  • May coordinate third-party maintenance for network equipment.
  • May design a network or a segment of a network, including the selection of hardware and software packages.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics) with 9 years of experience; 7 years with a Master’s; 4 years with a PhD.
  • Current DOD Top Secret clearance (or higher) obtained within the last 6 years.
  • Ability to acquire and maintain Special Access Programs (SAP/SAR).
  • Must be able to uphold DoD Cybersecurity certifications such as IAT Level 3 Security Certification (Security +, CySA+, CCNA Security, GICSP, GSEC, SSCP) or IAT DoD level 3 (CASP, CCNP-Security, CISA, CISSP, GCED, GCIH) or be able to obtain and maintain within 6 months of start date.
  • Willingness to travel up to 15%.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field with 9 years of experience; 7 years with a Master’s; 4 years with a PhD.
  • Current IAT Level 2 security certification.
  • DoD 8570 IAT Level I Certification (Security+).
  • Experience in performing Information Systems Security duties.
  • Familiarity with any of the following operating systems and applications:
o Microsoft Office, Access, and Visio.

o Integrated Maintenance Data System

o Unix/Solaris Operating Systems and Principles

o Windows Server

o Wide Area (WAN) and Local Area (LAN) networking

o Group policy design, testing, and implementation.

o Oracle RAC and DB

o VMware Virtualization

o Assured Compliance Assessment Solutions (ACAS)

SALARY RANGE:
$127,000 - $190,600


The aforementioned salary range serves as a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers various factors when determining base salary offers, including the scope and responsibilities of the position, as well as the candidate's experience, education, skills, and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions and allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may qualify for Long Term Incentives.
