Tufts University is seeking a highly skilled and customer-focused Senior Library Assistant, Billing Specialist to join our team at Tisch Library. As a key member of the Access Services Department, you will play a critical role in ensuring timely and effective access to library collections, facilities, and services.
Key Responsibilities- Provide exceptional customer service to students, faculty, and staff, responding to inquiries, resolving problems, and making referrals as needed.
- Manage billing and fees for the Access Services department, communicating directly with patrons to resolve user accounts and ensuring accurate and timely processing.
- Oversee workflow and project assignments for student staff, including answering questions, checking in materials, equipment, and technology, shelving reserves and holds, and assisting with opening and closing procedures.
- Open Tisch Library at the start of the morning shift, ensuring a smooth and efficient start to the day.
- Develop and maintain department documentation on billing, TouchNet system, and related communication plans, ensuring seamless integration with other departments.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure a smooth and equitable patron billing process, including Interlibrary Loan, Course Reserves, Metadata, and Acquisitions.
- Associate's degree or equivalent, with at least 3 years of customer service experience.
- Demonstrated commitment and success in a customer service environment, with strong written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple spreadsheets and workflows simultaneously.
- Familiarity with integrated library management systems and discovery tools, such as Alma and Primo.
- Familiarity with TouchNet Payment system or other online payment systems.
- Experience in a higher education environment, with a Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
- Library experience, with a strong understanding of library operations and procedures.
Salary is based on related experience, expertise, and internal equity, with a minimum of $24.30, midpoint of $28.90, and maximum of $33.50. Salary is generally between the minimum and midpoint of the range for new hires.
