The Division of Management Services is actively seeking to fill the role of Purchasing Agent Supervisor (Purchasing Agent Program Supervisor). This role will be based at the DOC central office.

Role Summary

This position is responsible for overseeing the acquisition of goods and services for the DOC. The supervisor will manage the RFP (Request for Proposals), RFB (Requests for Bids), and waiver processes. Additionally, this role includes the oversight of contract development and management, as well as leading, training, and supervising senior-level Contract Specialists and Procurement Specialists. Key responsibilities also involve independently conducting RFBs and RFPs for complex and high-value services, while assisting the Purchasing Director in managing the Purchasing Services Section that supports the entire Department.

Compensation and Benefits

The starting salary for this position ranges from $55,889 to $92,206 annually, accompanied by a comprehensive benefits package. Salary will be determined in accordance with the Compensation Plan and relevant administrative codes. A 12-month probationary period is required.

Job Requirements

Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States at the time of application. The Department of Corrections will conduct background checks on applicants to assess any potential job-related convictions. New employees will be subject to fingerprinting upon hire.

Pre-employment drug screening may be conducted, and passing this screening is a condition of employment for positions requiring it. Applicants who do not pass or refuse the drug screen will not be considered for employment.

Qualifications

To be minimally qualified, applicants should have experience in:

  • Managing procurement processes for goods or services.
  • Administering vendor contracts and evaluating performance.
  • Leading procurement-related teams (supervisory roles, project leadership, RFB/RFP committees, etc.).

Well-qualified candidates will also possess experience in:

  • Procuring goods and services for large public organizations (500 or more employees).
  • Independently conducting requests for proposals and bids.
  • Writing waiver requests for governmental approval.
  • Performing supervisory duties such as assigning, directing, and evaluating work, as well as performance planning and evaluation.
