Job Title: Graduate Program Adviser

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Graduate Program Adviser to join our team at the University of Washington. As a key member of our Student Services team, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the success of our graduate students.

Job Summary:

The Graduate Program Adviser will provide academic advising and support services to graduate students in the School of Nursing. This includes coordinating and facilitating admitted student academic advising sessions, managing DNP student/faculty mentor assignments, and assessing existing program policies to suggest improvements.

Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate and facilitate admitted student academic advising sessions for doctoral students
  • Support other Student Services team members with planning of new student orientation sessions
  • Manage DNP student/faculty mentor assignments
  • Assess existing program policies and suggest improvements
  • Provide information to faculty on student progression, satisfactory progress, and graduation procedures and requirements
  • Oversee student progress within the DNP & Certificate Programs
  • Coordinate annual student reviews for the appropriate program coordinating committee
  • Provide mentorship & guidance to graduate students enrolled in MN, DNP, and Graduate Certificate programs
  • Counsel students with inquiries regarding program progression
  • Provide support services to students, including registration deadlines, graduation requests, and degree completion questions
Requirements:
  • Baccalaureate degree in relevant field and three years of demonstrated student services administrative experience
  • Master's degree in Education, Nursing, or related field
  • Three plus years of experience in higher education setting
  • Knowledge of School of Nursing, Graduate School, and UW policies
  • Experience interacting effectively with individuals of diverse backgrounds at all levels of the University and community
