Job Summary

MedStar Health is seeking a Patient and Guest Relations Representative to provide exceptional service to patients, family members, and visitors at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital.

This role is responsible for serving as the primary contact for patients and guests, providing information and directions, and resolving issues or complaints in a timely and professional manner.

Key Responsibilities
  • Welcome patients and visitors to the hospital and provide information and directions to locations throughout the hospital.
  • Coordinate transportation services and escort patients, visitors, and staff as needed.
  • Access computer terminals for patient information and issue photo identification badges to associates, vendors, and contractors.
  • Oversee the entrances to the facility and provide assistance and services to guests.
  • Arrange overnight accommodations within the hospital and provide guest services such as wake-up calls, rides, and directions.
  • Monitor waiting areas, interact with doctors, family members, and patients, and provide coffee and answer questions.
  • Take patient and visitor complaints, resolve simple complaints, and refer complicated complaints to patient advocates, supervisors, and affected departments.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 1-2 years of job-related experience.
  • Verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Organization and ability to handle rapid multi-task situations.
  • General office experience strongly preferred.
  • Basic computer skills preferred.
