Position Overview:

The Kubernetes Platform Engineer will be responsible for overseeing, managing, and optimizing cloud infrastructures, ensuring ongoing enhancements and swift resolution of issues. This role requires advanced consulting capabilities and a deep technical background, coupled with comprehensive industry insight. The engineer will devise creative solutions to intricate challenges, operate with minimal supervision, and provide mentorship to junior team members.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience with Kubernetes technology.
  • Proficient in managing, configuring, deploying, and maintaining various environments and system integration tools, including Kubernetes, Rancher, Harbor, Helm, Longhorn, Rook-Ceph, Chaos Engineering, and Grafana.
  • Skilled in writing Terraform, Ansible playbooks, Linux automation scripts, and developing automation scripts for API interactions, along with expertise in infrastructure as code and software development languages.
  • Familiarity with systems monitoring, alerting, and analytics at the container level, utilizing APM tools such as Splunk, ELK, and Prometheus.
  • Understanding of Identity and Access Management (IDAM) technologies, including Active Directory, SAML, OpenLDAP, hardware tokens, OAuth 2.0, or OIDC.
  • Possession of TS/SCI clearance.
  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Capability to obtain DoD 8570 IAT Level II Certification within two months of employment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in managing and deploying applications within air-gapped environments.
  • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and collaboration tools such as Jira, Confluence, or Discourse.
  • Experience in creating and executing automated unit and system integration tests to identify and report on failed modules and components.
  • Proficient with Configuration Management (CM) tools, including GitLab, Git-centric, and CI/CD workflows.
  • Strong communication skills to articulate technical concepts and deliver presentations to cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Strong listening skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • Certifications such as Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD), Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA), or Certified Kubernetes Security (CKS) are advantageous.

Clearance Requirements:

Selected candidates will undergo a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility criteria for access to classified information; TS/SCI clearance is mandatory.
