Position Overview:

The Kubernetes Platform Engineer will be responsible for overseeing, managing, and optimizing cloud-based infrastructures, with a focus on continuous enhancement and swift resolution of issues. This role requires a blend of advanced consulting capabilities and extensive technical knowledge, enabling the development of innovative solutions to intricate challenges. The engineer will work independently while also providing mentorship and guidance to team members.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Kubernetes management
  • Proficient in administering, configuring, deploying, and maintaining cloud environments and system integration tools such as Kubernetes, Rancher, Harbor, Helm, Longhorn, Rook-Ceph, Chaos Engineering, and Grafana
  • Skilled in writing Terraform, Ansible playbooks, Linux automation scripts, and automation scripts for API interactions, along with experience in infrastructure as code and software development languages
  • Familiarity with systems monitoring, alerting, and analytics at the container level, utilizing APM tools like Splunk, ELK, and Prometheus
  • Understanding of identity and access management (IDAM) technologies, including Active Directory, SAML, OpenLDAP, hardware tokens, OAuth 2.0, or OIDC
  • TS/SCI clearance is required
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Capability to obtain DoD 8570 IAT Level II Certification within two months of employment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in managing and deploying applications within an air-gapped environment
  • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and collaboration tools such as Jira, Confluence, or Discourse
  • Experience in creating and executing automated unit and system integration tests to identify and address failed modules and components
  • Proficient in using configuration management tools like GitLab, Git-centric, and CI/CD workflows
  • Strong communication skills for conveying technical concepts and delivering presentations to cross-functional teams
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
  • Strong listening skills
  • Bachelor's degree is preferred
  • Certifications such as Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD), Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA), or Certified Kubernetes Security (CKS) are advantageous

Security Clearance:

Selected candidates will undergo a security investigation and must meet eligibility criteria for access to classified information; TS/SCI clearance is mandatory.

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including location, education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience. The projected compensation range for this position is $96,700.00 to $220,000.00 annually.

Work Environment:

Our people-first culture emphasizes flexibility and collaboration, whether in-person or remote. If this position is designated as remote or hybrid, you will occasionally work from a Booz Allen or client site. If onsite, you will collaborate with colleagues and clients in person as required.
