Patient Service Representative

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Patient Service Representative to join our team at Uptown Community Health Center, Inc. As a key member of our operations team, you will play a vital role in providing excellent customer service to our patients and their families.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greets and introduces yourself to patients in a prompt and pleasant manner
- Registers patients efficiently and accurately; verifies and records necessary demographic information; verifies insurance and method of payment; and collects fees and co-payments
- Performs any screening procedures as directed
- Handles emails and phone calls, answering questions, scheduling appointments, and gathering information
- Records any necessary notes in our patients' electronic health record
- Performs health insurance verification and takes and records copay transactions
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or GED equivalent required
- Two (2) years experience in integrated healthcare or primary care preferred
- Experience working with and sensitivity toward special populations, including those with limited income, limited education, and non-English speaking individuals
- Bilingual English / Spanish, complete comprehension, literacy and fluency in both languages
