Senior Manager - Technical Operations Training

United Airlines is seeking a highly skilled Senior Manager to lead our Technical Operations Training team. As a key member of our Technical Operations organization, you will be responsible for driving learning delivery innovation and program leadership by defining and developing strategy for learning effectiveness and business impact.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement training programs to ensure delivery of airworthiness training, regulatory compliance training, recurrent training, GSE and Supply Chain training.
  • Manage a team of managers, designers, and analysts responsible for the development, scheduling, delivery, and tracking of required Technical and non-Technical courses.
  • Ensure accurate, timely, and complete initiation and ongoing adjustments of the Learning Management System (LMS) to include airframe, engine, component, GSE, and Supply Chain Training.
  • Provide mentorship in developing and implementing department policies and procedures for training, specific to the assigned function and fleet type, engines, components, or equipment.
  • Ensure departmental alignment with FAA and industry regulations, maintain GMM and Departmental Operating Procedures, and conduct SMS Risk Assessments as needed to ensure safety and standard methodologies.
  • Improve efficiency and output by providing leadership and direction to the workforce in alignment with collective bargaining agreements.
  • Build and reinforce a fair and respectful work environment through consistent application of CBA work rules and company policies.
  • Lead and provide resource management, including providing staff with the appropriate tools and training and professional development.
  • Coordinate with other divisions and departments on projects and initiatives involving or affecting Technical Operations Training.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or 4 years of relevant work experience.
  • 5+ years of end-user experience with Learning Management System.
  • 5+ years of supervisory, management, and/or group leadership experience.
  • 5+ years leading learning development and learning delivery teams.
  • Excellent communication skills with demonstrated ability to coordinate and lead multi-functionally.
  • Self-motivated and ingrained Continuous Improvement approach.
  • Proven abilities to find creative ways to training efficiencies.
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines and run workload accordingly through task prioritization.
  • Self-starter with high degree of initiative and ability to handle deadlines.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to handle conflicting priorities.
  • Ability to connect with an executive audience and work multi-functionally.
  • Analytical approach to problem solving, with attention to detail and a sense of urgency.
  • Strong people leadership skills.
  • Ability to influence others outside area of direct responsibility.
