We are seeking Care/Medication Technicians for our community. Responsibilities:
  • Provide hands-on care and physical and emotional support to each resident while maintaining a safe and comfortable home-like environment.
  • Responsible for a designated group of residents during the shift, observing, reporting, and documenting symptoms and conditions for changes in condition such as skin, behavior, alertness, weight, dietary, and participation in activities.
  • Respond to security system and resident call bells promptly, notifying supervisor and/or Health Care Coordinator if a resident has increased care needs.
  • Assist with continence management, serve and collect food trays, and maintain cleanliness of resident's room and work areas.
  • Practice good standard care precautions of cleanliness, hygiene, and health, helping residents maintain independence, promoting dignity, and physical safety.
  • Actively participate/lead and assist residents with activities of daily living, engage residents in life skills and other life enrichment activities, and greet and assist all internal and external customers, guests, family members, residents, vendors, and team members.
  • Perform resident laundry as assigned and needed.
  • Review service plan to learn pertinent information about residents, assist/observe medications and treatments, document and initial form as medications are given, and maintain confidentiality of all resident information.
  • Report all resident concerns made while assisting resident with medication to the Nurse and/or Health Care Coordinator, restock medication cart after all medication passes, and count all narcotics with another Medication Care Manager or Nurse each shift.
  • Maintain and clean the Medication Room, med charts, treatment carts for neatness, cleanliness, availability of medications, and expired medications, and follow re-fill process for medications.
  • Participate in the development of the Service Plan and monthly updates, take and record temperature, blood pressure, weight, pulse, and respiration rates, and report occupational exposures to blood, body fluids, infectious materials, sharp sticks, and hazardous chemicals immediately.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
Qualifications:
  • Certified Nurse's Aid certification preferred.
  • High School diploma/GED.
  • Must be 18 years of age.
  • CPR Certification preferred.
  • First Aid Certification preferred.
  • Previous experience working with seniors preferred.
