Medical Assistant

Job Summary
The Medical Assistant will provide support to primary care providers in a correctional facility setting. The ideal candidate will have a valid certificate from an agency approved by the Department of Consumer Affairs, Medical Board of California to practice as a Medical Assistant.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform patient-oriented procedures under the clinical direction of a provider or valid authorization by a provider's order.
- Provide support to the Primary Care Team for daily clinic operations.
- Communicate effectively with patients and members of the PCT and other healthcare team members.
- Perform administrative duties.
- Address the ongoing needs of patients, work with physicians and other healthcare providers, and promote the efficient, appropriate, and cost-effective use of healthcare resources.
Requirements
- Valid certificate from an agency approved by the Department of Consumer Affairs, Medical Board of California to practice as a Medical Assistant.
- Ability to work in a correctional facility setting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Basic computer skills.
