Job Title: Youth Specialist

Annie Malone Children and Family Services is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Youth Specialist to join our team. As a Youth Specialist, you will play a vital role in providing support and guidance to youth in our care, helping them to develop essential life skills and achieve their full potential.

Job Summary:

The Youth Specialist will be responsible for supervising clients, assisting with daily responsibilities, and modeling positive behavior and effective problem-solving techniques. You will also be responsible for maintaining a safe and clean environment, following individualized treatment plans, and utilizing case management software to complete incident reports and case notes.

Responsibilities:
  • Supervise clients at all times to ensure their basic needs are met
  • Assist clients with daily responsibilities, activities, and living skills
  • Model positive behavior and effective problem-solving techniques
  • Maintain a safe and clean environment
  • Follow individualized treatment plans to support and improve treatment outcomes
  • Utilize case management software to complete incident reports and case notes
  • Ensure all documentation is complete prior to shift-end
  • Attend staff meetings to develop strategies to meet the needs of individual clients
  • Maintain client files according to standards and as required by policy and procedures
  • Maintain confidentiality and HIPAA standards for all assigned clients and families
  • Complete all required training, including any training hours required by professional licensure board
  • Transport children to/from placements, appointments, activities, and/or visits as needed
Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Bachelor's degree in counseling, psychology, criminal justice, or related field preferred
  • Two years of experience in dealing with disturbed, disabled, or behavior disorder-related clients
  • Basic computer competency to complete electronic documentation
  • Valid driver's license required
  • Current automobile insurance for transporting clients required
  • Ability and willingness to work weekdays and weekends required
  • Authorized to work in the United States required
Competency-Based Qualification:

Ability to evaluate and work effectively with youth with emotional and behavioral problems

Have patience and understanding with children; develop a sensitivity to the emotional needs of children

Ability to understand and implement a treatment/behavioral plan for disturbed, disabled, or behavior disorder-related youth
