POSITION OBJECTIVE

The individual in this role is tasked with delivering targeted assistance and personalized care to the youth within the program. This position emphasizes the attainment of specific objectives for the individuals served through evaluation, strategic planning, advocacy, and coordination, all in alignment with the mission, values, and policies of Covenant House Missouri.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

(Duties include but are not limited to the following)
  • Establish and uphold positive relationships with youth while maintaining appropriate boundaries.
  • Conduct client intake and administer various assessments, including life skills evaluations.
  • Assist individuals in identifying their needs and develop tailored treatment plans that prioritize their interests and preferences.
  • Provide crisis intervention counseling to youth and their families as necessary.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to:
    • Determine the most effective methods for delivering services to youth in community-based programs.
    • Integrate and consistently promote a Trauma-Informed approach through treatment planning and daily interactions, advocating for individuals based on their needs and desires.
  • Offer information or refer individuals to established public or private agencies or community services for support.
  • Design, organize, and facilitate life skills and group activities aimed at preventing and addressing issues related to interpersonal relationships and self-care.
  • Transport and accompany youth to appointments outside of the organization.
  • Exemplify positive behaviors and coping strategies for youth, demonstrating a strength-based approach in all interactions while utilizing principles of Trauma-Informed Care and Positive Youth Development.
  • Maintain accurate records, required documentation, and paperwork in accordance with agency policies and procedures.
  • Lead, plan, and facilitate various team and individual meetings to share information regarding youth.
  • Ensure proper administration of medication and first aid in line with organizational policies and guidelines.
  • Assist in the planning, scheduling, and execution of community activities both on and off-site.
  • Deliver presentations in the community to schools, service providers, and other community organizations.
  • Represent the organization at community fairs and events.
  • Provide outreach and case management services to youth residing in the community.
  • Build collaborative relationships with team members to foster trust and confidence, enabling constructive challenges to practices and procedures that require improvement.
  • Engage actively with volunteers and partners involved in community-based programs.
  • Participate in all mandatory training sessions and staff meetings, completing a minimum of 40 hours of training annually.
  • Adhere to all organizational and legal protocols, policies, and procedures.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

No direct supervisory responsibilities.

WORKING RELATIONSHIPS

Regular internal communication with all staff members, external contact with vendors and suppliers, and ongoing interaction with outside agencies.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education & Experience

A Bachelor's degree in Human Services or a related field is required. A minimum of two years of relevant experience is preferred.

  • Knowledge of policies, regulations, and laws related to the delivery of human services.
  • Fundamental understanding of mental health, trauma, substance abuse, and homelessness.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, assessment tools, database systems, and Windows environments.
