Position Summary:

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Accounting Services Specialist to become a vital part of our Finance team. This role is essential in supporting the robust financial systems and operations of a rapidly expanding organization with a focus on acquisition-driven growth. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in identifying, implementing, and overseeing financial systems, processes, and technologies throughout the company. This position is key in ensuring accurate and timely data management, which is critical for informed decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Accounting:
    • Assist in the monthly closing procedures
    • Prepare and record journal entries
    • Reconcile general ledger accounts
  • Accounts Receivable:
    • Generate and distribute monthly client invoices
    • Lead the collections process for accounts receivable
    • Act as the primary contact for A/R inquiries
    • Process cash applications
    • Manage daily client communication
    • Collaborate with the Client Services Team on collection matters
    • Escalate challenging accounts to senior management
  • Accounts Payable:
    • Process invoices for Accounts Payable
    • Maintain the Accounts Payable checklist
    • Facilitate the setup of new vendors
    • Investigate and resolve payable disputes
    • Research and document unrecorded liabilities
  • Audit/Tax:
    • Support annual external audit requirements and due diligence requests
    • File monthly or quarterly sales tax reports to relevant authorities
  • Internal Controls:
    • Ensure the integrity of internal controls, documentation, and compliance
    • Develop new controls to address identified weaknesses
  • Technology:
    • Assist in post-merger integrations of recent acquisitions
    • Provide system support for financial software
    • Help implement automated workflows
  • Team Collaboration:
    • Communicate financial information effectively
    • Build relationships across various teams to encourage collaboration

Qualifications:

  • Education:
    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration
  • Experience:
    • 3+ years of relevant experience
    • Familiarity with financial software is a plus
    • Understanding of accounting principles in accordance with US GAAP
  • Skills and Abilities:
    • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, capable of handling large datasets and ensuring data accuracy
    • Ability to think critically and manage multiple projects concurrently
    • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
    • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
