The Regulatory Compliance Specialist is integral to ensuring our LTO and lending practices align with all relevant laws, regulations, and internal standards. This role encompasses the monitoring and assessment of compliance matters, offering guidance to operational teams, and aiding in the creation and execution of compliance initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and interpret federal, state, and local regulations affecting company operations.
  • Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements within company practices and procedures.
  • Stay informed on regulatory developments and evaluate their implications for company operations.
  • Policy Development and Implementation:
  • Conduct regular assessments and updates of compliance policies to align with current regulations and industry best practices.
  • Perform compliance risk evaluations to identify potential vulnerabilities.
  • Formulate and implement strategies to address identified risks.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of risk mitigation efforts.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports on audit outcomes and suggest corrective measures.
  • Assist in generating reports for senior management and the board.
  • Investigate compliance-related inquiries and issues.
  • Collaborate closely with legal, risk management, and operational teams to ensure a unified compliance approach.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Law, or a related discipline is preferred.
  • 2-4 years of experience in a legal, compliance, or corporate legal role within the financial services sector, ideally in lease-to-own or lending.
  • Experience as a legal assistant or paralegal in financial services is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance best practices.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
