The Regulatory Compliance Specialist is integral to our operations, ensuring that our leasing and lending practices align with all relevant laws, regulations, and internal guidelines. This role encompasses the monitoring and assessment of compliance challenges, offering guidance to operational teams, and aiding in the creation and execution of compliance initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Analyze and interpret federal, state, and local regulations affecting company operations.
  2. Guarantee that company practices and procedures meet regulatory standards.
  3. Stay informed on regulatory updates and evaluate their implications for company operations.
  4. Policy Development and Implementation:
  5. Conduct regular assessments and revisions of compliance policies to ensure alignment with current regulations and industry best practices.
  6. Perform compliance risk evaluations to identify potential vulnerabilities.
  7. Formulate and execute strategies to address identified risks.
  8. Monitor and report on the success of risk mitigation efforts.
  9. Compile reports on audit results and suggest corrective measures.
  10. Assist in preparing documentation for senior management and the board of directors.
  11. Investigate compliance-related inquiries and concerns.
  12. Collaborate closely with legal, risk management, and operational teams to foster a unified compliance approach.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Law, or a related discipline is preferred.
  • 2-4 years of experience in a legal or compliance role within the financial services sector, ideally in lease-to-own or lending.
  • Experience as a legal assistant or paralegal in financial services is advantageous.
  • Strong grasp of regulatory standards and compliance best practices.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
