Position Title: Accounting Services Specialist

Department: Finance & Accounting
Reports To: Controller
Job Type: Full-Time

Position Summary:

We are in search of a motivated and detail-oriented Accounting Services Specialist to join our Finance team. This crucial role supports the efficient financial systems and operations of our rapidly expanding organization, which follows an acquisition-based growth model. The ideal candidate will play a key role in identifying, implementing, and managing financial systems, processes, and technologies throughout the company. This position is essential for maintaining accurate and timely data management, enabling informed decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Accounting:
    • Assist in the monthly closing procedures
    • Prepare and record journal entries
    • Reconcile general ledger accounts
  • Accounts Receivable:
    • Generate and distribute monthly client invoices
    • Lead the collection process for accounts receivable
    • Act as the primary contact for A/R inquiries
    • Process cash applications
    • Manage daily client communication
    • Collaborate with the Client Services Team on collection matters
    • Escalate problematic accounts to senior management
  • Accounts Payable:
    • Process invoices for Accounts Payable
    • Oversee the Accounts Payable checklist
    • Facilitate the setup of new vendors
    • Investigate and resolve payment disputes
    • Research and document unrecorded liabilities
  • Audit/Tax:
    • Support annual external audit requirements and inquiries
    • File monthly or quarterly sales tax reports as required
  • Internal Controls:
    • Maintain the integrity and documentation of internal controls
    • Develop new controls to address identified weaknesses
  • Technology:
    • Assist in post-merger integrations of recent acquisitions
    • Provide system support for financial software
    • Help implement automated workflows
  • Team Collaboration:
    • Effectively communicate financial information across teams
    • Build relationships to promote collaboration

Qualifications:

  • Education:
    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration
  • Experience:
    • 3+ years of relevant experience
    • Familiarity with financial software is a plus
    • Knowledge of accounting principles in accordance with US GAAP
  • Skills and Abilities:
    • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, capable of handling large datasets
    • Ability to think critically and manage multiple projects
    • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
    • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
    • Effective problem-solving skills
    • Professionalism, integrity, and a growth-oriented mindset
