Physiology Professor Position

We are seeking a highly qualified individual to join our team as an Open Rank Faculty in the Department of Physiology. The successful candidate will be responsible for establishing a vigorous independent research program, teaching in the School of Medicine and/or The Graduate School, and mentoring graduate and medical students.
Responsibilities- Develop and lead a research program that complements the department's research strengths and goals.
- Teach and mentor students in the School of Medicine and/or The Graduate School.
- Provide national, local, and institutional service.
- Board Eligible - Board Certified and have a MD, PhD, or equivalent appropriate degree commensurate with role.
- Minimum qualifications for each rank are provided below:
- Assistant Professor - Early level career as a faculty member with appropriate post graduate training.
- Associate Professor - Mid level career faculty member with at least five years at rank of Assistant Professor or comparable training, background, and experience.
- Professor - Senior level career faculty member with at least five years at the rank of Associate Professor or comparable training, background, and experience.
- Required faculty employment qualifications for all USG institutions and all academic ranks within these institutions shall be:
- Consistent with the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC)'s requirements for institutional accreditation;
- Evidence of ability as a teacher;
- Evidence of activity as a scholar and ability in all other duties assigned;
- Successful experience (which will necessarily be waived for those just entering the academic profession who meet all other requirements); and,
- Desirable personal qualities judged on the basis of personal interview, complete biographical data, and recommendations
- An established national and international reputation in the field;
- Sustained success in obtaining external funding for research;
- Exceptional track record of publications in top scientific journals;
- Evidence of a commitment to fostering multidisciplinary collaborations with other academic researchers both inside and outside the university; and,
- Unique, cutting-edge technology expertise
