About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Postdoctoral Research Fellow to join our team at Augusta University. As a key member of our research group, you will be responsible for conducting advanced-level research in physiology, with a focus on cardiovascular diseases and neurodegeneration.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct research in physiology, with a focus on cardiovascular diseases and neurodegeneration, using techniques such as molecular biology, microcirculation, patch-clamp electrophysiology, and in vivo two-photon imaging.
  • Develop and evaluate new research techniques and procedures, and publish results in scientific journals.
  • Participate in project planning and development of research protocols, ensuring adherence to accepted scientific research principles and compliance with relevant federal guidelines.
  • Supervise and coordinate activities of students, graduate assistants, and other research personnel engaged in research activities and/or related laboratory work.
  • Calibrate, troubleshoot, repair, and operate microscopes, computer-linked analytical equipment, dedicated computers, and other complex scientific equipment.
Requirements
  • Ph.D. degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Technical expertise in molecular biology, microcirculation, patch-clamp electrophysiology, in vivo two-photon imaging, in situ live confocal microscopy, immunohistochemistry, RNA-seq, and rodent surgeries.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
