Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Pharmacist to join our team as a Poison Control Specialist. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide expert clinical consultation to physicians and healthcare providers, ensuring patients receive timely and effective treatment for poisoning.

Responsibilities
  • Provide expert clinical consultation to physicians and healthcare providers on pharmacotherapy recommendations for poisoned patients.
  • Assess the degree of clinical toxicity and choose the course of therapy to improve patient outcomes.
  • Communicate effectively with healthcare teams, including remote consultation and electronic documentation.
  • Respond to medication-related inquiries, including therapy appropriateness, dosing errors, and adverse medication effects.
  • Collaborate with 911 and pre-hospital emergency medical providers to provide consultation for treatment and stabilization of patients on-site and during transport.
Requirements
  • Pharmacist licensure in Kentucky.
  • Board certification in Applied Toxicology (ABAT) or Certified Specialist in Poison Information (CSPI).
  • Excellent clinical, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively manage tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Team player with a positive attitude and ability to work in a multi-disciplinary environment.
