Job Summary

The Pharmacist-Poison Control serves as a clinical consultant to physicians and healthcare providers, ensuring patients receive prompt and expert treatment for poisoning.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert pharmacotherapy recommendations to healthcare providers
  • Assess clinical toxicity and choose the most appropriate course of therapy
  • Communicate with healthcare teams remotely and directly with patients
  • Consult with 911 and pre-hospital emergency medical providers
  • Respond to medication-related inquiries and adverse medication effects
Requirements
  • Pharmacist degree and certification as a specialist in poison information (CSPI) or American Board of Applied Toxicology (ABAT)
  • Excellent clinical, interpersonal, and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Team player with a positive attitude and willingness to teach and supervise medical professionals
