Job Title: Clinical Pharmacist Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Pharmacist Specialist to join our team at UofL Health.

About the Role:

The Clinical Pharmacist Specialist will provide specialized pharmaceutical services to improve drug usage and therapeutic outcomes for patients. This includes participating in multidisciplinary patient care rounds, medication order evaluation and verification, drug distribution, technician supervision, and clinical services such as medication histories, pharmacokinetic dosing, drug information requests, and patient counseling.

  • Clinical intervention
  • Formulary management
  • Resource for nursing and physician medication-related inquiries

Requirements:

  • Graduate from an accredited College of Pharmacy
  • Doctor of Pharmacy required
  • Post-Graduate Year 2 (PGY-2) Specialty Residency required plus 3 years of experience in specialty area OR Post-Graduate Year 1 (PGY-1) Pharmacy Residency required plus 5 years of experience in specialty area OR 10 years of experience in specialty area
  • At least three years of practice experience in the area of specialty in addition to the residency training
  • Experience in project or program coordination
  • Leadership experience in planning and setting direction for a department, team or program is preferred
  • Registered pharmacist or eligible for registration in Kentucky
  • Current board certification by Board of Pharmacy Specialties within area of expertise if available, otherwise general board certification required
  • Current Basic Life Support and Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification from AHA or must obtain within 90 days from date of hire
