Computer Science Faculty Position

The Department of Computer Science at George Mason University invites applications for one or more tenure-track or tenured faculty positions in Computer Science. We seek candidates who can contribute to our research and teaching excellence in areas such as software engineering, artificial intelligence, human-computer interaction, and cybersecurity.
Responsibilities- Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Computer Science
- Develop an independent, externally funded research program
- Advise students and participate in departmental governance
- Contribute to the department's mission and serve the profession
Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Computer Science or a related field. Candidates with a strong publication record in Computer Science and a commitment to high-quality teaching are preferred. Applicants at the rank of Associate or Full Professor must have established records of outstanding research and teaching, and significant experience in an academic setting.
Preferred QualificationsApplicants working in software engineering, artificial intelligence, human-computer interaction, and cybersecurity are especially welcome. Preference will be given to candidates with a Ph.D., teaching experience, and a record of peer-reviewed publications. Administrative and/or managerial experience is a plus.
