EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
A high school diploma or equivalent is required. A minimum of two years of experience in customer service within a call center environment is preferred. Candidates should possess the ability to efficiently document information while remaining calm in high-pressure situations. Proficiency in multitasking is essential. Strong verbal communication skills are mandatory. The ability to quickly learn and comprehend NCIC/GCIC rules and regulations is necessary. Discretion in prioritizing emergency responses is crucial.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Acts as the primary point of contact for both emergency and non-emergency calls related to police, fire, medical assistance, and customer inquiries.
Employs discretion to assess and prioritize calls, gathering pertinent details to determine the most suitable response.
Accurately documents information while maintaining composure in stressful scenarios. Receives and prioritizes calls, identifying the nature, location, and other relevant details. Assists transit patrons with faregate access and issues transfers as needed.Records critical information, such as suspect descriptions, to relay to radio operators or other personnel when necessary.
Operates non-emergency radio communication systems, relaying information to police, fire, and emergency medical services across jurisdictions, as well as to station managers.
Responds to requests from field units and station managers in accordance with standard operating procedures. Responsible for logging essential call information using the CAD (Computer Aided Dispatch) system, including dispatch arrival and completion times.Utilizes NCIC (National Crime Information Center) and GCIC (Georgia Crime Information Center) systems for data verification and entry.
Performs additional duties as assigned.SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
A thorough background investigation will be conducted, including a criminal history check. A physical examination, including drug and alcohol screening, is mandatory. An Awareness Statement issued by the GCIC must be signed regarding the dissemination of criminal history information.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Must obtain Criminal Justice Information System (CJIS) certification within 30 days of employment.
