Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified Emergency Management Specialist 2 or 3 to join our team at the Fulton County Board of Health. As a key member of our Emergency Preparedness Division, you will play a critical role in preparing, preventing, responding to, and rapidly recovering from public health threats.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate disaster response and crisis management activities
  • Provide disaster preparedness training and prepare emergency plans and procedures
  • Develop and implement emergency preparedness initiatives
  • Collaborate with other agencies and stakeholders to prepare and analyze damage assessments
  • Coordinate disaster response activities, including opening shelters and special needs programs
  • Develop and perform tests and evaluations of emergency management plans
  • Oversee training activities and monitor budget
  • Monitor the operational readiness of hospitals and other responders
  • Support planning and preparedness activities of hospitals and other response partners
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in public health, emergency management, or a closely related field
  • Two years of experience in emergency management or a related field
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to analyze complex data and make recommendations
