Job Title: Fire Medical Emergency Response Specialist

At the City of Atlanta, GA, we are seeking a highly skilled Fire Medical Emergency Response Specialist to join our team. As a Fire Medical Emergency Response Specialist, you will be responsible for providing emergency medical care and responding to emergency situations.

Responsibilities:
  • Assess emergency situations and determine the best course of action.
  • Provide advanced medical care using Paramedic skills and equipment.
  • Communicate with patients and loved ones to provide information and assurance.
  • Act as team leader and take responsibility for scene and unit management.
  • Drive the ambulance on 911 responses.
  • Work collaboratively with allied health and public safety personnel.
Requirements:
  • At least 18 years of age.
  • High School Diploma or GED required, supplemented by Paramedic training.
  • Valid driver's license and satisfactory driving history.
  • Ability to meet physical and mental demands of the position.

  • Data Utilization: Requires the ability to coordinate and manage data.
  • Human Interaction: Requires the ability to work with and apply principles of persuasion and/or influence over others.
  • Equipment, Machinery, Tools, and Materials Utilization: Requires the ability to operate and control equipment.
  • Verbal Aptitude: Requires the ability to utilize a wide variety of reference and descriptive data.
  • Mathematical Aptitude: Requires the ability to perform mathematical operations.
  • Situational Reasoning: Requires the ability to exercise judgment and decisiveness.
ADA Compliance:
  • Physical Ability: Tasks require the ability to exert heavy physical effort.
  • Sensory Requirements: Some tasks require the ability to perceive and discriminate colors and sounds.
  • Environmental Factors: Performance of essential functions may require exposure to adverse environmental conditions.
