About the Role

The Commonwealth of Massachusetts is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Homelessness Prevention and Diversion Manager to join our team. As a key member of our Division of Housing Stabilization, you will play a critical role in developing and implementing strategies to prevent homelessness and divert individuals and families from emergency assistance shelter.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage two teams: the Diversion team and the Residential Assistance for Families in Transition (RAFT) and Housing Consumer Education Center (HCEC) Regional Administering Agency (RAA) support team.
  • Develop and implement routine programmatic reviews to ensure fiscal, contractual, and regulatory compliance.
  • Provide guidance, support, and supervision to staff, including the HomeBASE Diversion Program Coordinator, the Diversion Program Coordinator, and the RAFT/HCEC Technical Assistance Supervisor and their direct reports.
  • Work closely with other teams within and outside the Division of Housing Stabilization to ensure a coordinated approach to eviction prevention, homelessness prevention, and diversion.
Requirements
  • At least 5 years of full-time or equivalent part-time professional experience in business administration, public administration, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of public housing programs and resources, with particular emphasis on local, state, and/or federal homelessness prevention and/or rapid rehousing programs.
  • Familiarity with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts' programs, including Emergency Assistance, HomeBASE, and other rental assistance programs.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
