Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Executive Director of Philanthropy to lead our philanthropic efforts and achieve fundraising goals for Trinity Health.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy to achieve corporate goals and objectives.
  • Oversee the development of policies and procedures, annual, capital, and planned giving campaigns, cultivation and stewardship events, and donor database management.
  • Manage the Foundation budget and develop fundraising financial reports.
  • Lead the expansion of major gifts, planned giving, and grateful patient programs as major pillars in the philanthropy program.
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with other foundations, donor prospects, healthcare providers, physicians, business, and community leaders to promote public support and awareness of Trinity Health.
  • Participate in employee, donor, and board member communications and development.
  • Establish appropriate and tasteful recognition programs.
  • Work closely with System Leadership, including Senior Management, Marketing/Public Relations, and Finance.
  • Partner with President/CEO and Foundation Chairs to lead Board and Committee meetings for Trinity Health.
  • Participate fully with Trinity Philanthropic initiatives.
  • Attend events sponsored by Trinity Health and community events to assure appropriate representation by Trinity Health.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field required; Master's in Nonprofit Administration or similar field preferred.
  • Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) designation preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in nonprofit fund development and 3 years managing teams, with a preference for experience in nonprofit healthcare.
  • Strong organizational, customer service, productivity, and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor team members and garner major gift fundraising.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Experience with project management and public relations.
  • Must be credible, trustworthy, and committed.
  • Skilled in written and verbal communications necessary to prepare and make presentations and deliver accurate reports.
  • Knowledge and compliance with the Better Business Bureau Standards of Charitable Solicitations.
  • Professional demeanor and appearance.
  • Always acting as a representative of the mission during and outside official work hours.
