Job Overview

Position Summary

The Certified Medical Technician (CMT) plays a crucial role in patient care under the supervision of the RN Supervisor and LPN. This position is responsible for delivering comprehensive medication administration tailored to individual patient needs, adhering to established nursing protocols and standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer prescribed medications to patients while maintaining accurate medical records under RN supervision.
  • Present medications to patients, ensuring proper ingestion or application, and document any instances where medications are not administered.
  • Assist in the preparation and organization of medications for patient administration.
  • Maintain and restock medication inventories as required.
  • Support nursing staff in delivering personal care, including hygiene assistance, meal preparation, and bathroom support.
  • Monitor and report any changes in patients' conditions, including physical and behavioral observations.
  • Implement infection control and safety measures during patient care activities.
  • Encourage and assist clients in maintaining an active lifestyle through appropriate exercises and mobility support.
  • Participate in the admission, transfer, and discharge processes for clients as directed.
  • Engage in mandatory training and staff meetings to enhance skills and knowledge.
  • Collaborate effectively with healthcare team members to ensure coordinated patient care.
  • Contribute to maintaining a clean and safe working environment.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Certification as a Medical Technician is required.

Licenses and Certifications

  • Current First Aid and CPR certifications are mandatory.
  • A valid driver's license with a good driving record is necessary.

Experience

  • A minimum of one year of experience in a group home or similar setting is preferred.
  • Experience working with medically fragile children or similar populations is advantageous.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to engage in various physical activities, including walking, standing, and lifting.
  • Potential exposure to infectious diseases in the work environment.
  • Flexibility to work at different facilities as needed.
  • Willingness to adapt to varying shift schedules based on operational needs.

  • Familiarity with community resources.
  • Strong oral and written communication abilities.
  • Commitment to adhering to company policies and maintaining confidentiality.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a dynamic healthcare setting.
