Position Summary

The Assistant Director of People & Culture is responsible for overseeing various human resources functions, including benefits administration, workforce planning, compliance, recruitment, and employee relations. This pivotal role collaborates closely with department leaders to ensure alignment with organizational goals and to support a thriving workplace culture.

This position will also play a significant role in training and development initiatives, ensuring that all HR strategies are executed effectively. The Assistant Director will step in to manage People & Culture operations in the absence of the Director.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead initiatives to cultivate a respectful and supportive work environment, promoting staff development through training and positive engagement.
  • Manage job postings and recruitment efforts across various platforms to attract qualified candidates.
  • Ensure compliance with all hiring processes and maintain accurate employee records.
  • Facilitate effective internal communication channels to keep employees informed and engaged.
  • Oversee payroll processes to guarantee accuracy and timeliness.
  • Develop strategies to enhance employee retention and satisfaction.
  • Encourage open communication and maintain an approachable presence for all staff.
  • Monitor industry trends to ensure competitive compensation and benefits.
  • Assist in implementing HR strategies that align with the organization's mission and values.
  • Promote a culture of diversity and inclusion within the workplace.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant employment laws and regulations.
  • Act as a liaison between employees and management to address HR-related inquiries and concerns.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a human resources role, preferably within the hospitality sector.
  • Strong leadership skills with a focus on execution and accountability.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

Preferred:

  • Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English.
  • Knowledge of federal and state employment laws.
  • Bachelor's degree in human resources or a related field.

Physical Requirements:

Able to perform tasks that require standing, sitting, and walking for extended periods, as well as lifting up to 10 pounds.
