Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement a calendar of activities tailored to the recreational interests of residents, including organizing, scheduling, and overseeing various events such as games, performances, and outings.
  • Assist residents with transportation to and from activities, encouraging their active participation.
  • Oversee the care, storage, and maintenance of recreational equipment, ensuring a system is in place for resident access.
  • Manage the recruitment, onboarding, and daily supervision of activity staff and volunteers in collaboration with management.
  • Document and report resident engagement in clinical records, preparing and updating individualized activity plans as necessary.
  • Assess and address the social, recreational, and emotional needs of residents through regular interactions and consultations with residents, staff, and families, promptly reporting any significant changes to nursing staff.
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols and regulations, reporting any incidents or unsafe conditions to management.

Qualifications:

  • Must possess or be eligible for certification as mandated by state and federal regulations.
  • Ability to engage positively with residents and their families while collaborating effectively with colleagues.
  • Willingness to maintain regular attendance and work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Physical and sensory capabilities (with or without accommodation) include walking, reaching, lifting, and effective communication skills.
  • Compliance with local health regulations and successful completion of a post-offer health assessment.
  • Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
