Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement a calendar of activities tailored to the recreational interests of residents, including organizing, scheduling, and overseeing events such as games, performances, social gatherings, arts and crafts, and outings.
- Assist residents with transportation to and from activities, encouraging their active participation.
- Oversee the care, storage, and management of recreational equipment, ensuring a systematic approach for resident access.
- Lead the recruitment, onboarding, and daily management of activity staff and volunteers in collaboration with the facility's administration.
- Document and analyze resident participation in clinical records, and prepare, review, and update individualized activity plans as required.
- Assess and address the social, recreational, and emotional needs of residents through regular interactions and consultations with residents, staff, and family members, promptly reporting any changes to nursing personnel.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and promptly report any incidents or unsafe conditions to the administration.
Qualifications:
- Must hold certification or be eligible for certification as per state and federal regulations.
- Ability to engage positively with residents and their families while collaborating effectively with colleagues.
- Willingness to maintain regular attendance and work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.
- Physical and sensory capabilities (with or without accommodation) include walking, reaching, climbing, bending, lifting, fine motor skills, and effective communication.
- Must comply with local health regulations and successfully complete a post-offer health assessment.
- Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
