Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement a calendar of activities tailored to the recreational needs of residents, including organizing, scheduling, and overseeing various events such as games, arts and crafts, and social gatherings.
  • Assist residents with transportation to and from activities, encouraging their participation and engagement.
  • Manage the care, storage, and maintenance of recreational equipment, ensuring a safe and organized environment for resident use.
  • Oversee the recruitment, training, and daily management of activity staff and volunteers in collaboration with the administration.
  • Document and report resident participation in clinical records, and prepare, review, and update individual activity plans as necessary to promote residents' well-being.
  • Assess and monitor the social, recreational, and emotional needs of residents through regular interactions and consultations, reporting any significant changes to nursing staff.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and promptly report any incidents or unsafe conditions to the administration.

Qualifications:

  • Must possess or be eligible for certification as required by state and federal regulations.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with residents and their families while collaborating effectively with team members.
  • Must demonstrate regular attendance and be willing to work evenings, weekends, and overtime as needed.
  • Physical and sensory capabilities (with or without accommodation) include walking, reaching, climbing, bending, lifting, and effective communication skills.
  • Must comply with local health regulations and successfully complete a post-offer health assessment.
  • Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
