Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement a calendar of activities tailored to the recreational interests of residents, including organizing and overseeing events such as games, arts and crafts, outings, and group discussions.
- Assist residents with mobility to and from activity areas, encouraging their active participation.
- Manage the care and maintenance of recreational equipment, ensuring it is safely stored and accessible for resident use.
- Oversee the recruitment, training, and daily management of activity staff and volunteers in collaboration with the facility's administration.
- Document resident engagement in clinical records and regularly update individualized activity plans to promote well-being.
- Assess and address the social, recreational, and emotional needs of residents through regular interactions and consultations with staff and family members, reporting any significant changes to nursing staff.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and promptly report any incidents or hazardous conditions to the administration.
Qualifications:
- Certification or eligibility for certification as mandated by state and federal regulations.
- Ability to foster positive relationships with residents and their families while collaborating effectively with colleagues.
- Willingness to maintain consistent attendance and work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.
- Physical and sensory capabilities (with or without accommodation) including mobility, dexterity, and effective communication skills.
- Compliance with local health regulations and successful completion of a post-offer health assessment.
- Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
