Job Description: On-Call Overnight Hospice NurseWe are seeking a dedicated and compassionate On-Call Overnight Hospice Nurse to join our team. As an On-Call Overnight Hospice Nurse, you will provide expert nursing care and emotional support to terminally ill patients and their families during the night shift, weekends, and occasional holidays.
Responsibilities:- Provide skilled nursing care to hospice patients in their homes or inpatient facilities during overnight shifts
- Assess patients' physical and emotional needs and develop individualized care plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team
- Administer medications, treatments, and procedures as prescribed by the attending physician
- Monitor patients' condition and vital signs, and report any changes or concerns to the appropriate healthcare professionals
- Provide emotional support and guidance to patients and families, addressing their concerns and providing comfort during difficult times
- Educate patients and families about the hospice philosophy, pain management, symptom control, and end-of-life care options
- Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of patient care activities and communication with the interdisciplinary team
- Current RN or LPN license in Georgia
- Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, preferably in hospice, palliative care, or a related field
- Certification in Hospice and Palliative Care Nursing (CHPN) preferred but not required
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work independently and make sound judgments in emergency situations
- Willingness to work overnight shifts, weekends, and occasional holidays as needed
