Job Overview

The Senior Electrical Estimation Manager plays a pivotal role in leading a team of estimators and crafting comprehensive proposals for electrical estimation projects. Key responsibilities include:

  • Department Leadership: Overseeing the operations of the estimating department, managing workloads, and ensuring alignment with the company's financial objectives.
  • Estimate Review: Guaranteeing the accuracy and completeness of estimates and proposals, while conducting thorough reviews with management.
  • Proposal Development: Creating detailed proposals for both new construction and maintenance projects within industrial facilities.
  • Data Tracking: Monitoring performance data against company goals and providing reports to the executive team.
  • Relationship Management: Building and nurturing relationships with clients, subcontractors, internal teams, and field personnel.
  • Process Improvement: Evaluating and refining standardized processes within the estimating domain.
  • Bid Participation: Engaging with general contractors and taking part in bid interviews.

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated executive presence with the capability to foster effective relationships and manage departmental functions professionally.
  • Exceptional communication skills to lead the team and provide clear guidance.
  • Commitment to training and mentoring estimators and project management candidates, from senior estimators to trainees.
  • Collaborative team player with the ability to work alongside diverse personnel, both internal and external.
  • Proven ability to thrive under pressure and meet tight deadlines while maintaining composure.
  • Extensive knowledge of industrial electrical estimation, with foresight in pricing challenges and value engineering.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the industrial electrical sector, along with general knowledge of mechanical, civil, and other specialized trades.
  • Proficiency in integrating the National Electrical Code, building codes, and OSHA regulations into estimates.
  • Strong conceptual estimating capabilities.
  • Aptitude for identifying opportunities for process enhancements and leading initiatives for change.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to convey information clearly and succinctly.
  • Preferred: BS Degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in electrical contracting or construction.
  • 8+ years of experience in electrical estimation.
  • 3+ years of experience in senior management or executive roles.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications.
