Job Description

HTI Cybernetics, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Estimator to join our team. As an Estimator, you will play a critical role in assisting with the development of detailed and competitive proposals for Capital Equipment and Manufacturing Tooling used in the fabrication and assembly of automotive components.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Proposal Development: Assist in the creation of comprehensive proposals that meet customer requirements, maximize company objectives, and deliver overall satisfaction to both customers and stakeholders.
  • Cost Estimation: Construct accurate cost estimates of material and manufacturing costs by reviewing functional information, engineering drawings, and customer specifications.
  • Proposal Presentations: Assist in the preparation of proposal presentations that explain proposed processes, systems, project, and end-user requirements.
  • Project Controls: Coordinate project controls requirements with Controls Engineering Staff and integrate associated costs into the proposal cost and summary sheets.
  • Sourcing: Solicit competitive sources for purchased Capital Equipment, raw materials, and outside services.
  • Additional Responsibilities: Perform other tasks as required and assigned by Management, including customer meetings, project line-ups, and end-user plant visits.
Requirements:
  • Experience: 3+ years of estimating and proposal experience required or general knowledge of automation.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Business or equivalent experience highly desired.
  • Skills: Ability to comprehend customer requirements from specifications/RFQs and integrate each into competitive project estimates and detailed proposals required. Demonstrated knowledge of a variety of manufacturing processes required.
  • Software Proficiency: MS Office: Computer proficiency with standard software packages, including Word, PowerPoint, Project, Outlook, and Excel.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact with customers and suppliers in a professional manner.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Demonstrated detail orientation, judgment, and problem-solving skills.
  • Independence: Ability to work independently, prioritize, and balance multiple proposals and coordinate customer-directed quote timelines to ensure timely completion with minimal supervision.
