Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Commercial Underwriter CRE to join our Business Banking team. As a Commercial Underwriter CRE, you will be responsible for performing financial analysis and underwriting for small to mid-level Commercial Real Estate loan transactions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct in-depth reviews of rent rolls, leases, income statements, CoStar reports, appraisal reports, environmental reports, guarantor financials, and other financial information to determine the borrower's ability to generate income and cash flow sufficient to repay existing and proposed debt.
  • Prepare well-written approval presentations, including the requested loan amount, analysis of the property's market and location, the background and history of the sponsor, and key risks and mitigating factors.
  • Actively seek, develop, and maintain trusted relationships with clients, commercial relationship managers, credit officers, administrative assistants, loan operations colleagues, appraisers, and examiners.
  • Review third-party reports, such as real estate appraisals, CoStar market reports, property condition reports, environmental reports, and/or property inspections.
  • Interact with clients to ensure receipt of financial information necessary to support the underwriting process of Commercial loans.
Requirements
  • Minimum 1-3 years of experience in commercial real estate appraisal or credit analysis with demonstrated skills in areas such as rent rolls, leases, cash flow, market analysis, and guarantor analysis for commercial real estate loans.
  • Skilled with MS Office and proficient with financial spreading software.
  • Strong analytical, organizational skills along with the ability to prioritize multiple projects.
  • Pleasant interpersonal skills and effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to clearly communicate risk criteria, respond objectively and with confidence when challenged, and involve the BBCRE Manager as appropriate.
  • Bachelor's degree in business with a major in finance or accounting.
