Front Desk Agent Job Description

Job Summary:

The Front Desk Agent is the first point of contact for guests when they arrive at the hotel. They are responsible for providing exceptional customer service, handling room key distribution, registration, and verification of reservations, as well as addressing any guest concerns or complaints.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Greet and register guests in a friendly and welcoming manner
  • Assist in taking reservations, pre-registrations, and room blocking
  • Assist large groups upon arrival
  • Provide recommendations for local dining, shopping, and attractions
  • Handle and resolve guest issues in a timely and professional manner
  • Process payments according to procedure
  • Upsell additional facilities and services
  • Perform all check-out tasks
  • Ensure accurate cash handling and reconciliation at the end of each shift
  • Communicate effectively with other departments to resolve guest concerns or requests
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Hotel front desk experience preferred, with Hyatt experience being a plus
  • Experience with hotel reservations software
  • Experience with Microsoft Windows
  • Outgoing and friendly demeanor, with a willingness to go above and beyond to ensure guest satisfaction
  • Positive and upbeat attitude
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Team-oriented
  • Ability to stand for 8 hours at a time
  • Ability to lift 20 lbs. on occasion
  • Availability to work holidays and weekends
